With over 80 employees worldwide, the E+D Localization team within the E+D organization is responsible for the strategy, design, and management of the localized product and content experience for many Microsoft customers in E+D, MSAI, Security, C+AI, and Xbox. Our organization ensures that Microsoft products, games and services land in markets around the world reflecting cultural and language differences. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of people leadership/management.
  • 3+ years of business strategy experience or user experience design.
  • 5+ years of successful localization delivery with depth in localizability and complex workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working across strategic stakeholders (product, game studio, publishing, and marketing teams).
  • Process improvement experience; driving initiatives to address customer feedback.
  • 3+ years of experience in Gaming or Entertainment industry.
  • Committed global communication skills, and skills in building organizational partnerships across a complex stakeholder network including engineering, gaming and marketing teams.
  • Ability to navigate and influence in a matrixed organization, utilizing technical fluency/acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience/ability in leading both direct and virtual teams with a broad array of skills to ensure best-in-class customer outcomes.
  • Create clarity for teams, translating complex ideas and issues into clear and consumable strategy for technical products.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams to success - drafting the right strategy, working as necessary with employees at different levels, etc.
  • Ability to create effective relationships, listen, communicate, influence, be persistent, patient and collaborate cross-team at all organizational levels.
  • Bring passion and energy to create a vibrant culture of diversity and inclusion within the organization.
  • Analytical and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to quickly understand new concepts, distill complex information, and provide clarity in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience in and curiosity about applying AI throughout daily work routines.
  • Fluency in another language a plus.
  • Ability to handle breadth and a complex stakeholder maps.

Customer Experience Program Mgmt M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team comprised of Program Managers who are responsible for supporting and improving the localized customer experience with multiple Microsoft products, games, and marketing experiences. On the product side this includes Teams, Office, Windows, Edge, and Xbox Platform. It includes major game titles in the Xbox family like Minecraft, Forza, Halo, and Gears of War. And it includes most of our Microsoft marketing presence across M365, Azure, and Business Applications.
  • Bring together a broad set of localization services including a supplier ecosystem, product team support, quality and compliance oversight, and onboarding excellence across multiple modalities such as software strings, support articles, game UI and voice over, web pages, marketing experiences and collateral, etc.
  • Direct localization planning activities and improvements via the Global Services Hub to support Microsoft internal localization needs through to successful delivery including language strategy and Return on Investment considerations.
  • Work with your PMs and stakeholder organizations to eliminate and prevent recurring localization issues. You will have the opportunity to innovate our localization services by focusing on ingestion and discovery processes in onboarding, workflow automation including AI, process unification across all localization modalities, and through the optimization of the localization workflow.
  • Engage with product, publishing, and marketing organizations to understand localization support challenges and opportunities to improve our services. You will also engage closely with gaming studios to understand the unique challenges of game localization and complex project management involved in game release management.
  • Leverage exceptional organizational and people leadership skills to create an environment that inspires those around you to be their best selves and do their best work.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with internal localization teams and other internal organizations, to share best practices, collaborate on cross-product/service issues.
  • Create effective communications plans to ensure broad awareness, from the front-line to executive levels, on E+D Localization strategies, priorities, and state of the business in a transparent and consistent manner.
  • Maintain depth of understanding of customer needs and expectations and industry and competitor standards; infuse these insights into current and future strategies and plans.
