We are hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager to join our mission of securing access to world’s online resources by building and operating a PKI platform with world class fundamentals that makes Entra and Azure customers the most secure and productive in the world. Microsoft's Identity & Network Access (IDNA) Team is at the heart of the day-to-day technology experience and secures over a billion monthly active users. It powers the identity experience which is at the core of almost every Microsoft product and service from Windows to Office, from Azure to Xbox. Microsoft Identity is a booming business and we’re just getting started on our mission to secure and protect the world’s most valuable assets and most highly trafficked services. We innovate on multiple technical aspects: 1. Architecting services for large scale and low latency requirements 2. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure software systems, with applied knowledge of authentication, data protection, access control, and secure coding practices.
- 2+ years of experience managing software engineering teams with a proven track record of driving technical execution, fostering team growth, and delivering high-impact solutions in complex environments.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available cloud services or distributed systems on platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or comparable cloud environments, with production ownership and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- 2+ years of experience building consensus and resolving conflicts across cross-functional teams to drive alignment and effective decision-making.
