The Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Operating Unit (OU) is a newly formed team with a bold mission: to consolidate, simplify, and accelerate Microsoft’s presence across the DIB landscape. This expansive network includes over 100,000 organizations specializing in manufacturing, aviation, cybersecurity, and more—all united in their support of all Federal Agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense and other mission-based intelligence and civilian organizations.

Our team is dedicated to empowering these commercial contractors throughout their digital transformation journey—from envisioning new possibilities to delivering secure, scalable solutions that drive mission outcomes, elevate customer experience, and fuel Microsoft’s growth.

The DIB OU will directly manage and accelerate strategic and major DIB accounts across Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Americas, while also enabling growth across other OUs and Small, Medium, Enterprise & Corporate (SME&C). We’re building new relationships, transforming legacy operations, and helping our customers modernize with confidence.

We are currently looking for Cloud Solution Architect - AI Business Solutions - Endpoint to join our team.

As a Cloud Solution Architect - AI Business Solutions - Endpoint, you will empower customers to achieve their goals through their investments in Microsoft technology. Leveraging your expertise, you'll guide technical discussions to help customers unlock the full potential of their Microsoft solutions, including identifying resolutions to issues blocking customer success projects. Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with DoD Zero Trust Strategy, IC Data Strategy, and FedRAMP-compliant architectures.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft security products including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and XDR.

Other Requirements:

  • Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 6+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to guide customers through Zero Trust architecture and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience delivering Enterprise Security Assessments (ESA) and Well-Architected Reviews (WARA/WASA).
  • Familiarity with DoD operational doctrines, IC Information Environment, and Edge connectivity requirements is essential.
  • Proficiency in Copilot Studio, Copilot Chat, and AI-powered endpoint workflows.
  • Ability to support secure collaboration, hybrid data platforms, and AI-driven decision-making in classified or disconnected environments.
  • Must be able to navigate FedRAMP, ITAR, and other compliance frameworks relevant to the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).
  • Technical Certifications

    Candidates must hold or be actively pursuing one or more of the following:

    • MD-102: Endpoint Administrator Associate – for managing modern endpoint environments.
    • AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate – for core Azure services and governance.
    • AZ-140: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty – for virtual desktop infrastructure expertise.
  • 4+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).
  • 4+ years experience working on technical projects.
  • Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications).

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerate Endpoint Transformation by Driving adoption of Windows 365 (W365), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Microsoft Intune to modernize endpoint infrastructure.
  • Lead customer engagements focused on scalable endpoint modernization and secure device management.
  • Provide deep technical expertise across endpoint technologies.
  • Maximize customer value by aligning endpoint strategy with business outcomes.
  • Support health assessments and success plan execution for mission-critical workloads.
  • Design Cloud Architectures - Ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure tailored to customer needs, allowing businesses to handle growth, and changing demands efficiently.
  • Lead Architectural Design Sessions - Facilitate the creation of effective and efficient cloud solutions through collaborative planning and design sessions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements. This collaboration fosters innovation and problem-solving, leading to better-designed systems.
  • Develop Proof of Concepts and Pilots – Demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of proposed cloud solutions, gaining customer buy-in and driving adoption. These prototypes help validate ideas and identify potential issues before full-scale implementation, saving time and resources.
  • Provide Technical Guidance and Support - Ensure successful implementation and optimization of cloud solutions, enhancing customer satisfaction and solution performance, to maximize the value of customer cloud investments and adapt efficiently to challenges.
  • Transition Customers from Legacy Systems - Facilitate smooth transitions to modern cloud environments, improving efficiency and reducing operational risks for customers, to help them stay competitive by leveraging the latest technologies and cloud best practices.
  • Thought Leadership & Stakeholder Management - Drive innovation to meet future market demand and maximize customer impact. Establish long-term engagement to influence large customers in adopting Microsoft Technologies. Proven track record of developing deep technical relationships.
  • Customer Enablement and Business Acumen - Experience in offering guidance to the broader technical team to ensure that technical pre-sales, deployment, and consumption are part of solution development efforts and the ability to coach the customer on building resilience to technical issues and dealing with competition and and/or discuss Microsoft products and articulate the value proposition of Microsoft Cloud services to customers by understanding of business processes and the ability to identify opportunities where technology can drive business value. Experience in translating technical concepts into business benefits.
