Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ year of professional software development experience in languages like C#, Java, Go, or Python.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience building or working with RESTful APIs or distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in security, identity, or infrastructure. Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and diagnostics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset.
Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer in the Identity division, you’ll work on building foundational and abstract services that serve as reusable building blocks supporting multiple Entra products in communication, notification and more. These services power mission-critical identity workloads like authentication, authorization, governance, and hybrid identity all while meeting demanding requirements around scale, reliability, latency, and security.
- Contribute to critical components of Microsoft Entra, such as Identity Governance Notification and more.
- Help build and operate cloud-scale distributed systems that require high availability, low latency, and world-class security.
- Learn from and collaborate with experienced engineers and leaders in identity, cloud, and security domains.
- Write robust, maintainable code and automated tests that ensure quality, reliability, and resilience.
- Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle from planning and design to deployment and production support.
- Troubleshoot live site issues as part of a collaborative on-call rotation, contributing to service health and customer trust.
