Frontier AI Solutions & Technology organization is part of Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) responsible for all systems and tools to drive Cloud and AI Solutions to help customers realize value for their investments, by supporting Microsoft Field and Corp resources with programmatic and scalable assets. Frontier AI Solutions & Technology Engineering team is responsible for driving and building apps and engineering solutions to enable various roles across MCAPS. Frontier AI Solutions & Technology team is looking for a full stack Software Engineer to join us to drive and deliver innovative and world-class solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for multiple products in Frontier AI Solutions & Technology platform and solutions and deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our users.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading and driving technical and architectural dependencies.
  • Technical skill proficiency in C#, .NET, REST API, JavaScript/TypeScript
    • OR equivalent languages/frameworks.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business acumen and customer focus to understand customer scenarios and translate them as product/solution requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with React or an equivalent front-end framework.
  • Hands-on experience in app development using ASP.NET, Azure AI technologies, including Azure AI Foundry.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud development principles and patterns, particularly loosely coupled architectures, Agentic AI architectures, micro-services and DevOps model.
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer building commercial software and proven track record of shipping successful software products & services.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, Program Managers, and Data Scientists.
  • Technical experience and knowledge in Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management. Have and develop proficiency in:
    • App Platform/Containers/Serverless (App Service, AKS, ACA, Functions)
    • Azure Integration Service (APIM, Logic Apps)
    • DevOps (CI/CD, Azure DevOps)
    • Database (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Factory (ADF))
  • Proficient in building intelligent, conversational, and autonomous workflows using multi-agent AI stacks and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, and others. Experienced in prompt engineering and integrating advanced AI capabilities into enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with Power Platform and D365 is a plus.
  • Ability to be influential and impactful in cross-group and matrixed team environments.
  • Lead a talented and motivated team in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Technical Leadership and Engineering Excellence: Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, architecture, application and database design, development, testing, and deployment, while enforcing engineering best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions. Collaboration and Cross-Team Partnership: Foster collaboration with Microsoft product teams, program managers, and user experience (UX) designers to manage dependencies, share knowledge, and jointly deliver updates to enhance engineering capabilities.

Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce best practices in coding, testing, and documentation to ensure high standards for code quality, performance, and service reliability.

Site Reliability: Support and maintain existing services & integrations with LOB applications across the enterprise.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Identify and implement opportunities for automation, process optimization, and technical innovation, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Planning and Communication: Participate actively in sprint and semester planning, provide accurate cost estimates, and maintain transparent communication on deliverables, risks, and milestones.
