Overview

Xbox Game Studios (XGS), the organization overseeing first-party global studios and part of the Xbox Division, has an opening for a Senior Development Program Manager, Xbox Game Studios (XGS).

This role, reporting to the XGS Head of Development, will partner closely with senior leaders across the XGS extended leadership team and their respective studio & project leadership teams to orchestrate all aspects of the rhythms of business related to managing the extended portfolio of XGS game productions.

In this capacity, you strive to understand, nurture, and protect each studio’s unique approach to game development, while ensuring there is sufficient and consistent visibility into the progress of each project to manage the XGS portfolio with discipline and predictability and deliver games at the highest possible level of quality.

To do so, you drive planning for all XGS Development Gates and Project Reviews, you lead Monthly XGS Portfolio Reviews and Executive XGS Quarterly Project Reviews and you ensure accurate XGS Portfolio information is communicated to all key stakeholders across the broader Xbox organization.

As we continually learn from and iterate on our best practices, you strive to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these important cross-XGS development rhythms by identifying and implementing process improvements applicable to the incredible variety of games developed across XGS.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience working within the video games industry in any role or capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 3+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Analytical thinker with a demonstrated growth mindset.
  • Positive, adaptable, and empathetic collaborator.
  • Verbal and written communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Appreciation for the diversity and idiosyncrasies of world-class game development teams.
  • A passion for games and the craft of game development.

Business Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate all aspects of the rhythm of business related to managing the extended portfolio of XGS (Xbox Game Studios) game productions.
