Passionate about our exciting hardware lineup? Come be a part of Windows & Devices Commercial Sales Finance Team! We are looking for a motivated individual with enthusiasm to take on an impact role as our new Surface Commercial Finance Lead.

The Windows and Devices Finance Team comprises of teams covering Sales, Revenue, Investments, Compete and Gross Margins (GM). We are advocates for the business and drives growth through:

  • Delivering unit, revenue, GM and market share targets
  • Developing deep understanding of Windows and Devices investment framework and Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Actionable analytics and insights on our competitors, retailers, partners and customers to drive share
  • Providing predictability and transparency through our financial outlooks.
  • Looking forward to scope risks and opportunities proactively
  • Being trusted leaders to our business partners (engaged & insightful)

The successful candidate will bring a combination of finance and business acumen, leadership, and influencing skills to this space to drive superior financial results in close alignment with our business partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience demonstrating strategic financial capabilities, including financial planning, business partnership, performance analysis, and decision support aligned with organizational goals.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Finance Insights & Analytics: Lead the development of dashboards, scorecards, and executive-ready insights that highlight key financial trends, risks, and opportunities. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into clear narratives that inform business decisions. Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and financial transparency.
  • Financial Close & Reporting: Manage the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with corporate standards. Coordinate with accounting, FP&A, and business partners to resolve close issues and streamline reporting workflows. Own the preparation of financial summaries and variance analyses for executive reviews.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain robust financial models to evaluate business performance, scenario planning, and investment decisions.
  • Rhythm of Business: Establish and drive a predictable Rhythm of Business cadence that aligns with corporate and business unit priorities. Facilitate key forums (e.g., MBRs, QBRs, forecast reviews) by preparing materials, aligning stakeholders, and tracking follow-ups. Ensure the processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare executive-level presentations and dashboards that clearly communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Business Partnership & Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to finance and business leaders, providing insights that shape strategy and execution. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of operational excellence and data-driven decision-making.
