The Cloud Security team delivers core security attestation services used by millions of Windows devices, Azure and Edge Virtual machines and Confidential compute scenarios. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team!

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience in C++ and object-oriented languages such as Java or C#, with expertise in OS lower-stack development.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience developing and shipping software/services.
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in core OS Components and distributed services.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and C#.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and solve ambiguous problems.
  • Strong coding and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated debugging skills.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities

We are looking for candidates with strong software design and development skills to implement security services for the Azure platform. You will be working in a collaborative environment to build and deliver highly available, distributed services end-to-end that integrate with core Azure components like Hyper-V, Azure OS, and Monitoring. This is a unique role that provides an opportunity to:
  • Work on Linux and Windows operating systems and build cloud services that scale to millions of clients.
  • Build and deliver highly-available, distributed services end-to-end that integrate with core Azure components
