Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years proven writing or content design experience AND a certification, degree, or training in English, Writing, Human-centered Design, Literature, or related field.
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) project leadership experience.
- 1+ year(s) of experience with SEO optimization, and organic and paid media strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience with long-form writing.
- 5+ years experience creating and leading editorial strategy for brands' websites and/or social media channels.
- 2+ years experience overseeing external vendors and/or agencies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Clarity or similar analytics tools.
- A deep understanding of today's AI landscape and a demonstrated passion for the arts and/or UX Design.
Writing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Craft internal-facing narratives that create excitement, clarity, and buy-in for product explorations, told across formats spanning white papers, newsletters, prototypes, and presentations.
- Design and drive the editorial strategy for Microsoft Design's external website and social media channels by leveraging your understanding of product roadmaps, company strategy, and broader trends across AI and UX.
- Conduct listening tours across Product, Marketing, and PR to unearth compelling stories and partner to align them with broader company moments.
- Write, ghostwrite, and edit short and long-form content for product makers, including senior design executives.
- Leverage analytics reports to ensure a data-driven approach toward external content, using monitoring insights to experiment and iterate.
- Increase site traffic and social followings, including setting KPIs.
- Help recruit top UX talent by creating resonant Design Culture & Careers content and strategies.
- Ensure the Microsoft Design website is functionally and aesthetically best-in-class by working alongside UX engineers, content coordinators, and creative directors.

- You're a highly adaptable writer, equally comfortable writing a white paper as you are an irreverent pop culture listicle.
- You're equal parts creative and analytical, able to ideate bold, original editorial content and then dive deep to understand performance.
- You're highly articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including when interacting with senior executives.
