Overview
We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to join the AI Platform & Tools (APT) team, a critical pillar in our mission to evolve Windows into the best platform for client AI. This team is at the forefront of infusing AI capabilities deeply into the Windows operating system and developer platform—pushing boundaries on what is possible to accomplish with local models.
You will prototype, incubate, and envision customer scenarios and new platform capabilities to inspire future areas of investment, and drive customer adoption. You’ll define and deliver foundational platform capabilities that allow developers to leverage Windows Inbox models, easily use open-source models, or bring and optimize their own proprietary ones. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, research, and cross-company AI efforts.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience working on AI features or AI platform capabilities.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning models, and leveraging AI models in samples or applications.
Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to product strategy and execution for AI Platform features and APIs across Windows OS and app platform layers.
- Develop prototypes and incubate future investment opportunities, especially on cutting edge or in-progress models and capabilities.
- Define key platform capabilities, including new model-based APIs, prioritization of open-source models, runtime features, and supporting tooling.
- Coordinate across partner teams in Windows, M365, Gaming, and more to deliver AI-infused, value-add experiences for end users.
- Engage deeply with customers and partners, including Agents, ISVs, and enterprise IT, to validate platform direction and gather feedback.
