Overview
The Developer Productivity Specialist Global Black Belt (GBB) is a customer-facing role with a strong sales and technical background with a focus on modern software development tools and practices. As a GBB, you are regarded as a subject matter expert in Developer Productivity tools and practices and are a trusted advisor to software engineering and development leads within our enterprise customer segment. Customer engagements will require you to deliver technical thought leadership through ideation and architectural design sessions, technical workshops, pilots and MVPs to advance the decision process and increase the pipeline and adoption of our Developer Tools portfolio across GitHub and Microsoft, such as GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Copilot, GitHub Advanced Security and Microsoft Dev Box.
This role sits in our Global Black Belt (GBB) organization, which is a team of highly specialized professionals within our Microsoft Customer & Partner Solutions organization (MCAPS) who work with customers to enable some of the most complex and innovative solutions, providing differentiated technical leadership and guidance along the way.
This role will require travel to customer sites.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive Technical Pre-Sales and Consulting Leadership:
10+ years of experience leading complex technical pre-sales, consulting, or solution architecture engagements, with a demonstrated ability to translate advanced technical concepts into strategic business outcomes for enterprise customers.- OR equivalent experience.
- Expert-Level DevOps Mastery:
Deep expertise (7+ years) in architecting and implementing DevOps practices—including Agile, CI/CD, automation, quality, and security—across large-scale organizations, using advanced toolchains such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, or Atlassian. Deep understanding of AI Paired programming tools like GitHub Copilot
- Advanced DevSecOps & Shift-Left Security Leadership:
Proven track record (5+ years) of driving DevSecOps and Shift-Left security initiatives, leveraging tools like GitHub Advanced Security, SonarQube, Fortify, and Defender for Cloud to embed security early in the software development lifecycle. - Strategic Cloud Application Development:
Significant hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying complex cloud-native applications in Azure, utilizing GitHub Enterprise Cloud or Azure DevOps, and advising on cloud transformation at scale. - Executive-Level Customer Engagement & Solution Sales:
Demonstrated success in leading high-stakes, customer-facing advisory and pre-sales engagements, influencing executive stakeholders, resolving critical technical blockers, and driving adoption of developer productivity solutions across global enterprises.
- Fluency in Japanese and English.

グローバルエンタープライズを対象に、経営層との折衝や技術的課題の解決、開発生産性ソリューションの導入推進など、重要な顧客案件をリードした実績を有する方。
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Practical experience building and deploying cloud applications in Azure using GitHub Enterprise Cloud or Azure DevOps.
- Experience using, managing and deploying DevOps toolchains such as GitHub Copilot, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, BitBucket or Jenkins.
- Experience using, managing and deploying Microsoft Dev Box.
- Experience in Shift-Left security development practices (DevSecOps) with toolchains such as GitHub Advanced Security, GitHub Advanced Security for Azure DevOps, Snyk and other similar products.
Responsibilities
Be the key technical sales leader and influencer in shaping customer decisions to buy, build and transform new markets and lead transformational shifts in our customers.
Engage in conversation with customers and collaborate with Microsoft and GitHub account and partner teams to drive and qualify new opportunities, understand key technical objections, and resolve technical blockers.
Lead end-to-end conversations and initiatives about Developer Productivity and modern software development practices such as DevOps, DevSecOps, Al assisted Software Development, Cloud Development Environments and Platforms Engineering.
Influence Microsoft's and GitHub's go-to-market and product strategies and roadmaps by documenting and sharing insights to sales, marketing, and engineering stakeholders on current and future product requirements, sales blockers and customer feedback.
