Overview

The Xbox Experiences and Platform Commerce (XPC) team is responsible for ensuring publishers have low-friction access to our ecosystem, rich insights into the publishing experience, and a world-class platform to deliver their content to gamers around the world. We work closely with partner teams across Xbox, as well as internal and external game studios, to achieve these goals. We’re always striving to find new and innovative ways to incorporate the latest design patterns, cloud technologies, and machine learning to create better experiences—all while maintaining highly available services and ensuring the safety and security of our customers’ data.

Our team is currently looking for a Software Engineer II who is passionate about designing and implementing modern data services. In this role, you will work alongside a diverse team of software engineers, program managers, and designers to develop technologies that empower Xbox and game creators with accurate data, intelligence, and tools to maximize player reach, engagement, and revenue across all platforms.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in design, coding, and debugging.
  • Global collaboration is integral to our work at Microsoft, and proficiency in English is essential for effective communication in this role.
  • A growth mindset with a desire to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and implementing data models, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing solutions that support scalable and reliable services.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data-related services.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or Scala.
