In this technical sales role, you’ll help customers design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures that support their modernization goals. Using Cloud & AI’s IaaS and PaaS services, you’ll guide organizations through migration, optimization, and innovation—translating technical capabilities into real business outcomes. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver impactful solutions that enhance agility, reduce costs, and unlock value through AI-powered infrastructure.

As a Senior Digital Cloud & AI Solution Engineer – Innovative Infrastructure on the Azure Platform, you’ll play a key role in helping mid-market customers modernize their infrastructure and unlock the full value of Microsoft’s cloud. You’ll work directly with technical and business stakeholders to design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient architectures that support AI workloads and business-critical applications. You bring deep expertise in migrating core workloads—including Windows, SQL Server, Linux, PostgreSQL, SAP and Oracle—to Cloud & AI. Beyond migration, you lead customers through modernization using the 6R strategy, containerization best practices, and Cloud & AI-native services like AKS and Arc, while exploring how AI and intelligent agents can accelerate legacy transformation. You also apply strong networking knowledge to design hybrid and cloud-native solutions, including virtual networks, VPNs, and secure routing architectures that meet enterprise performance and compliance needs. You complement this with trusted partner solutions like NetApp, VMware, RedHat, and SAP to ensure a secure, optimized, and scalable migration experience.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 6+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 12+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
- Certification in relevant (Microsoft or industry) technologies or disciplines (e.g., Microsoft Office 365; Power BI; Azure Administrator, Architecture, and Development exams; Cloud Platform Technologies; Information Security; Architecture).
- Fluency in English at a business level is required.
Responsibilities
Build Strategy
- Tailors Microsoft standard messaging to audience using knowledge of specific Microsoft products.
- Learns about Microsoft capability to contribute to strategy development and how to provide strategic and technical input.
Tailors Microsoft value messaging to audience.
- Reviews customer interactions and raises and acts on customer compete information to contribute to development and landing of compete strategies.
- Learns how to serve as the voice of the customer (VOC) through feedback, blockers, insights, and resources (e.g., unified action tracker [UAT], technical feedback platform across communities).
- Assists team members to monitor, analyze, or implement action plans to promote customer usage of key/prioritized Microsoft solutions/products that support customer’s business outcomes.
Scale Customer Engagements
- Engages other resources (e.g., product and engineering teams) and learns to leverage programs and investments (e.g., Microsoft Technology Center [MTC], exec briefing center, partner workshops) with support from peers.
- Develops understanding of standards and best practices (e.g., managed service provider [MSP], managed certified professional [MCP]). May support customer engagements through pre-sales activities while utilizing common sales and delivery methodology for the Microsoft sales organization.
- Engages other resources, leveraging basic resource knowledge, for key areas of technology as needed to overcome technical blockers on assigned technology set.
- Develops understanding of current customer context and anticipates next steps. Uses product expertise to build credibility with customers individually or at scale.
- Begins to develop awareness of available resources by familiarizing themselves with the community and engaging others to gain product knowledge. Scale Through Partners
- Engages in partner sell-with scenarios by contributing to the facilitation of technical engagements and partnering with colleagues to manage the sales process.

Supports the development of relationships with pre-sale team and partners. Work with manager or peer mentor to learn how to identify top 5 to 10 partners to work with in applicable territories.
Solution Design and Proof
- Presents basic reference architectures to partners or customers for key parts of their technology sets.
- Learns about and uses existing demonstration assets. Contributes to demonstrations (e.g., proof of concept [POC] sessions with partners) of solutions based on specific Microsoft products through early stage engagements with coaching from senior colleagues. Leverages partner/customer teams as needed to prove product capabilities and integration into customer environment. Reviews partner demonstrations and provides feedback to ensure alignment with Microsoft standards with guidance.
Technical Leadership
- Ensures customer technical teams are aware of and leveraging available for-scale skilling programs
- May participate in local Microsoft tech community sessions, hackathon, attend community calls, etc.
- Consumes and leverages readiness materials to expand domain knowledge and practices expertise by communicating with customers, partners, and senior colleagues.
