Overview

The Windows + Devices division plays a vital role in ensuring Microsoft's continued success in the era of artificial intelligence. Windows is the bedrock upon which all of Microsoft’s Consumer (Search, Office and Gaming) and Commercial (Data & AI, Infrastructure, Modern Work, Biz apps) businesses reside. The fast-paced and dynamic PC market environment presents many exciting challenges for the team to tackle and deliver creative solutions. The Consumer Sales Finance (CSF), which is a part of the Consumer Finance team, is a truly global finance team which has inclusion, culture and talent development as core values. CSF looks at the Consumer business end-to-end work with several business stakeholders in providing financial knowledge to drive and guide the business, we work with Marketing to align on success measures for our product categories, with Supply & Ops to ensure we have the right product in the right place, and with Sales to understand our Partner Account mechanics and Channel Strategy.

In this pivotal role, you will help drive financial strategy and performance for our multi-billion-dollar Windows and Devices business. Finance at Microsoft interfaces across a broad intersection of business partners including Engineering, Marketing, Category Management, Sales, Data Science, Investments, Pricing/Deals and Supply Chain teams.

The Windows and Devices Finance Team is recruiting candidates for Revenue, Investments and Go-To-Market/Sales Finance roles.

The successful candidate will bring a combination of finance and business acumen, leadership, and influencing skills to this space to drive superior financial results in close alignment with our business partners. Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience partnering with business/functional leaders.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
  • OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize across multiple workstreams with attention to detail, and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders with a high degree of ambiguity and bring partners along in thought leadership and finance agenda.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with the business to provide proactive financial analysis and insights that inform decision-making.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to drive unit, revenue, gross margin and market share targets. Serve as reliable and respected business leaders to our partners.
  • Develop and implement investment frameworks that are tied back to business priorities. Measure performance and create optionality to pivot strategy with agility.
  • Deliver actionable analytics and insights into our competitors, retailers, partners and customers to drive strategic decision making.
  • Provide predictability and transparency through our financial outlooks and storytelling.
  • Communicate complex, data-driven recommendations to business partners, including delivering difficult messages when necessary, and drive consensus on investment strategies and remediation plans.
  • Oversee and deliver timely and accurate financial planning, forecasting, and close rhythm of the business (ROB).
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of core finance activities through enhanced reporting, automation, process excellence and detailed analytics .
