Overview

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

Cloud Manufacturing Operations and Fulfillment (CMOF) organization within CSCP manages business operations performance and supplies hardware to the data centers. Well-defined and executed supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. Within the CMOF organization, the Readiness Engineering & Sovereign (RE&S) organization plays a key role in the pre-dock readiness and First Footprint execution across GPU, Compute, Storage, as well as end-to-end Sovereign execution across CSCP.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Solution Manager to drive end-to-end server readiness with a particular focus on parallelizing execution through shifting left in parallel with data center delivery. A well-defined and executed supply chain ensures reliable performance, optimized cost, manages unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base. Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3 years experience with the definition of multi-year strategies, roadmaps and enterprise program across multiple functions and organizations.
  • 3 years experience in the cloud infrastructure domain either from a data center perspective or a core supply chain or engineering perspective.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Continuous Improvement certification, Lean Six Sigma certification, or equivalent.
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) or equivalent.
  • Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci Certification).
  • Deep Knowledge of Supply Chain principles - Planning, Sourcing, Make and Deliver
  • Experience in the cloud infrastructure domain either from a data center perspective or a core supply chain or engineering perspective. GPU infrastructure experience and knowledge will be a big plus.
  • Creation and delivery of executive presentations and executive storytelling.
  • Definition of multi-year strategies and roadmaps across multiple functions and organizations.
  • Experience with Gen AI for personal productivity and identifying Agentic AI solutions
  • 3+ years experience with data analysis/presentation, SQL and Power BI or equivalent skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrated technical problem solving and excellent analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Comfortable in executive presentations and communications

Technical Solution Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Influences and delivers with stakeholders solution vision, strategy, and roadmaps. Develops the vision, strategy, and experience of a highly complex, high-impact solution area for a domain area.
  • Ensure strategic and execution alignment through steercos and the publication of whitepapers
  • Brings expertise to understand and translate the complex opportunity areas and problem statements into business requirements.
  • Partners with Engineering Teams to design roadmap(s) for complex, high-impact solution area(s) and develop technical solutions.
  • Drive end to end OKR and metrics forums and measurement of business performance including tracking RCAs and fixes as appropriate.
  • Drives cross-team coordination and community of business and engineers to address highly complex challenges and opportunities to deliver technical solutions.
  • Serves as an expert in understanding and prioritizing complex problems and solution areas.
  • Defines success criteria and performance metrics for a highly complex, high-impact solution. Partners with the Engineering Team to deliver highly complex, high-impact solution areas and minimize variance between estimates and actual project outcomes.
  • Leads others when conducting user acceptance testing and/or focus groups to determine the end-user experience and needs.
  • Drives the analysis of success metrics to evaluate and optimize the performance of the technical solution.
