Microsoft Endpoint Data Loss Prevention is one of the fastest-growing businesses under purview. We are hiring a motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Endpoint DLP AI Platform and Experiences team and help deliver a best-in-class data protection platform for Microsoft customers. Our team is dedicated to building a fast, scalable, AI-powered Endpoint DLP platform that ensures reliable data protection and seamless customer experiences. We thrive in a collaborative, agile development environment where innovation and impact are key. We develop end-to-end AI powered capabilities and a robust protection infrastructure—ranging from client on Windows, backend services on Azure, to user experiences on our portal. Our team also owns and maintains a suite of microservices deployed on Azure.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Excellent coding and debugging skills in C/C++/C# or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills across the team and company.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • C++ and C#, Windows development and Exposure to web services on Azure.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in the office 3 times or more a week.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

As a developer in this role, your primary focus will be on designing and implementing customer facing platform capabilities that enable enterprise-grade features for the Microsoft Endpoint Data Loss Prevention (EDLP) product. Our team builds reliable, efficient, and end-to-end platform features and customer experiences across the stack. We are a full-stack development team, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to solutions spanning client-side development on Windows, backend services on Azure, and user experiences on our web portal. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers from partner teams, program managers, and other security engineering disciplines to deliver impactful, high-quality solutions.
