The Enablement & Operations (E&O) team enables Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Team to better serve every person and organization’s transformation and economic success. How? We design, build, and manage the levers that accelerate commercial growth—including compensation, business performance and insights, planning, skilling, and tooling and engineering.
The MCAPS E&O Revenue Operations team empowers every person in MCAPS to serve customers by activating and innovating the Microsoft commercial revenue engine. We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Director of Commercial Planning, responsible for orchestrating the global Fiscal Year (FY) Planning process and driving alignment across MCAPS commercial priorities.
In this role as Director, Commercial Planning – MCAPS E&O Revenue Operations, you will lead the MCAPS planning community across core and regional teams and serve as a key leader within the E&O Planning team. You will own the end-to-end FY planning journey—from retrospectives to landing the strategy at MCAPS Leadership Summit —ensuring clarity, cohesion, and timely execution. Your work will bring structure to planning milestones, shape key narratives, and guide stakeholders on what’s happening, what’s next, and what’s due.
This role requires proficient business acumen, sound judgment, and operational excellence. You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment that values integrity, collaboration, and a growth mindset. Key capabilities include program and change management, executive communication, and organizational planning. You’ll also lead a strategic reassessment of current workflows to identify high-impact opportunities for AI transformation, partnering with Revenue Operations (RevOps) and E&O SMEs to drive measurable outcomes. Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience in in Near Term Strategy (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance.
- 3+ years experience managing end-to-end commercial planning.
- 3+ years experience designing and operationalizing the FY planning framework, milestones, and deliverables in partnership with global and regional stakeholders.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 5+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Sales Strategy Enablement IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Influence
Lead the end-to-end commercial planning process across MCAPS, ensuring timely, informed decision-making with the right stakeholders to deliver a cohesive strategy for the field. Partner with the broader planning team to align decision-making with execution and collaborate with change management to translate strategy into activation.
Cross-Functional Program Design
Design and operationalize the FY planning framework, milestones, and deliverables in partnership with global and regional stakeholders. Ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and success metrics while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
Operational Excellence & Execution
Drive the Cross-MCAPS Planning Rhythm of Business (ROB) with forward-looking visibility and coordination. Ensure planning milestones are executed with consistency, quality, and accountability across all stakeholder groups.
Change Enablement & Communication
Translate strategic decisions into clear, role-specific landing materials that support adoption of fiscal year changes. Drive a connected narrative across MCAPS, ensuring readiness and clarity at all levels of the organization.
Business Insights & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate planning effectiveness through performance tracking, stakeholder feedback, and cost-benefit analysis. Lead AI-driven workflow transformation initiatives in partnership with RevOps SMEs to improve efficiency and impact.
Cross-Organizational Leadership
Foster committed v-team collaboration across MCAPS and partner organizations. Act as the connective tissue across RevOps teams—ensuring unified messaging, seamless integration, and a culture of trust, shared ownership, and continuous learning.
