The Azure Service Fabric Team’s core mission is to make it easy to package, deploy, and manage scalable and reliable microservices and containers. Azure Service Fabric is a distributed systems platform with the key focus on building stateful services. It also addresses the significant challenges in developing and managing cloud native applications. Customers use Service Fabric programming model or run containerized stateful services written in any language or code. The Service Fabric clusters can be created anywhere including Windows Server and Linux, on premises as well as other public clouds in addition to Azure. Service Fabric powers many Microsoft services today, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Cortana, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Intune, Azure Event Hubs, Azure IoT Hub, Dynamics 365, Skype for Business, and many core Azure services. Service Fabric is Microsoft's container orchestrator for deploying and managing microservices across a cluster of machines. Service Fabric can deploy applications in seconds, at high density with hundreds or thousands of applications or containers per machine. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, OR Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience/knowledge of cloud computing, enterprise computing, IaaS and/or SaaS products.
  • Proven ability to track complex technical issues for running online services.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute towards building the Azure Service Fabric platform that makes it possible for supporting multiple classes of applications accounting for application consistency, availability, and partition tolerance.

• Develop an understanding of Service Fabric orchestration and workflows in conjunction with platform level capabilities.
• Works in collaboration with teams across a single organization to develop reliable, scalable, and high-performance, software designs.
• Partners with engineering and Program Management teams to understand customer, business, and technical requirements to provide feedback to Azure Engineering.
• Triages, troubleshoots, and repairs complex live site issues by applying expertise in software and hardware components and features.
• Rapid cloud scale deployment of code and monitoring of telemetry.
• Design, develop and operate large scale, efficient and reliable cloud services.
• Drive continuous improvement on service quality and cogs efficiency.
