Our Azure Strategic Deals team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance organization at the forefront of Microsoft’s cloud growth. We partner deeply with Microsoft engineering, sales, and business development teams to build strategic deals that deliver maximum value.

We are looking for an Azure Commercial Deals Senior Finance Manager to lead some of our largest and most strategic Azure deals. This role focuses on defining the best competitive strategy to land successful long-term partnerships by applying robust technical, financial, and business expertise. This role also serves as subject matter expert for cloud economics and cost-optimization discussions.

Qualifications


Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years deep modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial systems or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
  • Passionate about the technology industry, and ability to engage in technical discussions
  • Written and verbal communication skills, enabling simple communication of complex topics to an executive audience
  • Analytical skills and strategic thinking
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at a fast pace
  • Comfort working at multiple altitudes, from strategic/high-level projects to detailed analysis
  • Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated results in proactively driving and delivering value/impact project results through both individual and project team efforts
  • Partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority and appropriately push back when required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Self-motivation; ability to quickly identify what needs to be accomplished and resourcefulness to get things done

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with internal and external executives to clearly articulate the outcome of complex financial analyses
  • Partnering with Strategic Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and other teams to guide healthy Azure partnerships
  • Leading customer discussions and finding creative ways to maximize probability of winning deals, with strong Return on Investment (ROI) and controlled risks
  • Creating robust financial models to evaluate complex transactions and determine negotiations guardrails
  • Developing frameworks to accelerate, simplify, and scale Azure’s deal making process
  • Continuous learning of Microsoft Cloud services, infrastructure, operations, go-to-market, and long-term cloud economics.
