As a PhD Cloud Network Engineer Intern, you will design and develop robust network infrastructures, ensuring seamless implementation and optimal security by engaging in comprehensive design reviews and collaborating with a diverse team of experts. You will leverage your technical acumen to drive the deployment and advancement of data centers and network sites, addressing any arising challenges with innovative solutions. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing Doctorates degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in a full time PhD program in area relevant for the role during the academic term immediately before their internship.

The base pay range for this internship is USD $6710.00 - $13270.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $8760.00 - $14360.00 per month.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of network technologies to draw insights that aid in network design, implementation, and operation.
  • Assist in the design of reliable, scalable, and high-performance network features or components with guidance from other engineers.
  • Develop an understanding of quality assurance and network or code review processes by assisting in identifying risks and classes of bugs and becoming familiar with essential details related to network implementation (e.g., physical connectivity, power, protocols, telemetry) and design qualification with guidance from other engineers.
  • Work within a team of engineers to manage network deployments and work with a machine-readable definition of the network deployment.
