We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team!

This is an exciting time to join our group and work on something highly strategic to Microsoft. This team builds a suite of front-end and back-end capabilities to empower admins to safely and securely govern Copilot agents and capabilities in Microsoft Power Platform. Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Qualifications

Required Qualficiations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to Typescript, React, Python, C#, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting efficient design and architectural discussions.
  • 2+ years of experience providing professional communication and leadership skills, with a focus on fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with fast-paced, demanding project environments and an interest in driving effective discussions and outcomes in an ambiguous setting.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to Typescript, React, Python, C#, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience building and maintaining cloud distributed microservices and web APIs OR front-end responsive, performant, and accessible web applications.
  • 2+ years of experience with LLM based coding and automation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example within the team by producing extensible and maintainable web applications and services. Optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI). Apply metrics to drive the quality and stability of code, as well as appropriate coding patterns and best practices.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on call to monitor web applications and services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions. Work with customers to resolve escalations.
  • Engage in design discussions to advocate for and drive general improvements across our technology stack and product group.
  • Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
