Overview

The Devices Strategy & Business Planning team is seeking a Strategy Lead - AI, Growth & Devices Ecosystem, to define and drive the strategic roadmap for AI experiences, growth, and monetization across the Windows device ecosystem. This role is central to shaping how AI transforms user experiences and business outcomes across PCs, gaming, and productivity devices. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in device strategy, an analytical foundation, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives that span upstream platform planning to downstream go-to-market execution.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with data infrastructure and modeling.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, analytics, product planning, or related fields, with focus on device ecosystems and AI technologies.
  • 4+ years working with device market dynamics (PC, gaming or productivity), customer behavior, and competitive landscape.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
  • Communication and storytelling skills tailored to executive audiences.

Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • AI Experience Strategy: Architect the long-term strategy for AI experiences across Windows devices, identifying high-impact opportunities and aligning them with platform capabilities, customer needs, and business goals.
  • Growth & Monetization: Develop and execute strategies to drive user growth, engagement, and monetization of AI features across the device portfolio, including pricing, packaging, and value articulation.
  • Device Ecosystem Leadership: Lead strategic planning across the PC, gaming, and productivity segments, optimizing portfolio structure, feature integration, and market positioning.
  • Feature Feasibility & Integration: Evaluate the technical and operational feasibility of AI features across device platforms, guiding prioritization and integration in partnership with engineering and product teams.
  • Upstream & Downstream Strategy: Influence upstream decisions (e.g., silicon, OS, platform investments) and downstream execution (e.g., Go-To-Market, channel strategy) to ensure AI features land successfully in-market.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Collaborate with product marketing, planning, engineering, finance, and sales to align strategy with execution and drive clarity across teams.
  • Market Intelligence & Customer Insights: Leverage research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to inform strategy and identify whitespace opportunities.
  • Executive Communication: Develop compelling narratives and strategic recommendations for leadership, influencing decisions at the highest levels.
  • Apply a research-driven mindset to synthesize insights from internal and external data sources.
  • Use data science tools (e.g., SQL, PowerBI, Python) to uncover second-order analytics and strategic implications.
  • Translate complex data into strategic frameworks and business narratives that guide decision-making.
  • Build and scale strategic planning methodologies (e.g., Conjoint, total addressable market analysis) across markets and segments.
  • Maintain a network across the organization to amplify insights and accelerate execution.
