Online Advertising is one of the fastest growing businesses on the Internet today, and Microsoft Ads is considered one of the most important players in the world of Advertising business. Microsoft Ads covers all aspects of the online advertising and innovates rapidly to grow its share of this market by providing the advertising industry with a highly scalable platform that competes head to head with Google Advertising platform. This team is responsible for building controls and features to be used by online advertisers across different interfaces like UI and API to create and manage their display, video and native ad campaigns on Microsoft Audience Network (MSAN). This team has very solid focus on customer satisfaction. We are on an ambitious journey to grow the MSAN business to be multi billion dollar business.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the team, you will develop world class experiences for our demand management platform as well as enable new Ads Product to advertisers and work with our partners to complete ad delivery. Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in CS fundamentals, solid inclination for architecting at scale.
  • 4+ years of experience of proficient technical design, problem solving and debugging skills.
  • 4+ years of experience in driving methodical data driven decision making and the ability to build metrics to analyze business impact.

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of expereince in proficient coding experience with C#, JavaScript, HTML and/or CSS.
  • 4+ years ofd experience with ReactJS and modern front end development environment.
  • 4+ years of experience with data analysis and building metrics to measure business impact.
  • Proficient communication and collaborative work style.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

  • Work closely with PMs, UX designers and partner teams to design and develop features from concept to release and live operations.
  • Collaborate with teammates in various roles to plan and execute on key deliverables and learn quickly from your peers, projects, and interactions with customers.
