We’re looking for a Senior Program Manager - Security to join the Azure Security Key Management team—the backbone of Microsoft’s cloud security. In this role, you’ll help deliver secure, compliant, and highly available key management solutions that protect customer data at scale. You’ll own product specs, drive cross-team execution, develop and tell the story of new features like External Key Management and services like Managed Hardware Security Modules (HSM). Qualifications

Requiered Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience of demonstrated ownership of a medium‑to‑large product area.
  • 2+ years of experience in cloud services, security, and compliance.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in cryptography, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), or key management systems.
  • Able to clarify ambiguity and drive cross‑team decisions to delivery.
  • Clear, executive‑ready communication; able to simplify complex technical topics for customers and leadership.
  • Operational effectiveness running business reviews with KPIs; disciplined follow‑through.


Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Tell the story of Azure Key Management Services (Key Vault, Managed HSM, Cloud HSM) to customers and partners: craft clear narratives, customer-facing decks/demos, and connecting features to compliance, sovereignty, and customer workloads.
  • Own and evolve specifications and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) for key management features, driving crisp requirements, decisions, and alignment across stakeholders.

  • Drive cross‑team execution with Security, Identity, Storage, Software Development Kit (SDK), Command-Line Interface (CLI), and Portal; track integration issues to closure and unblock delivery.

  • Run the business rhythm: maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), publish insights, and use data to guide priorities and trade‑offs.

  • Write customer and operations (Ops) ready content (Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), documentation, guidance, samples) to ensure adoption and audit readiness.
