Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead global communications for Xbox platform. The Senior Communications Manager, Xbox Platform role includes leading communications and creative storytelling across key initiatives such as Xbox Anywhere, Xbox Game Pass, and Xbox hardware, crafting narratives that resonate with players, partners, and press around the world.

As part of the Global Gaming Communications Team, the Senior Communications Manager, Xbox Platform will have experience launching products, partnering with stakeholders across a matrixed organization, and crafting global communications plans across earned and owned channels. We’re looking for a media-savvy professional with relationships with gaming, tech, and consumer press and creators. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience OR equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in an internal employee communications role(s) or equivelant experience

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience

Communications IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year. Responsibilities

  • Lead storytelling and Public Relations (PR) for critical Xbox platform products and experiences
  • Partner with global Communications, Marketing, Engineering and business leads to develop and drive strategic PR campaigns for Xbox
  • Act as a trusted advisor to key leaders, providing strategic counsel and guidance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with priority media and creators, and actively manage media relations including identifying new contacts
  • Develop, review, and edit content for internal and external audiences, including executive briefing materials, media engagements and PR driven events
  • Support key PR activities, both physical and virtual, around the world, partnering closely with global communications teams
  • Collaborate with broader Communications team at Microsoft to support cross-company events and news beats
  • Partner with social, internal and executive comms teams on amplification and engagement opportunities for major moments
  • Manage PR agency as integral members of our extended team
  • Help protect the Microsoft and Xbox brand by identifying and mitigating reputational risk
