Overview
The Azure Core organization, specifically the Compute team, is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Product Manager to help deliver high-quality and innovative solutions to Azure customers. In this role, you will engage directly with customers to understand their needs and the competitive landscape, ensuring that the products we deliver meet and exceed expectations in performance, quality, and scalability. You will be part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences through Azure Compute platform offerings. This role involves close collaboration with Microsoft engineering teams to design and support solutions that enhance Azure Compute. The ideal candidate is data-driven, thrives on Microsoft’s leadership principles, and is energized by solving complex technical challenges with a product mindset and a focus on customer needs.
To support customers around the world in achieving their goals, Azure continues to develop services that offer flexibility and scale. Azure Compute enables customers to deploy and manage large-scale compute resources with a range of cost and management options. With growing interest from customers and partners, we are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead this charter and help expand the business.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with customers, with the ability to deeply understand customer needs and the competitive landscape to achieve the optimal outcome.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile development methodology, collaborating closely with development teams.
- 5+ years of experience presenting to stakeholders with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management OR software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical program or product management within a cloud environment.
- 5+ years of experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI or SQL.
- 5+ years of experience driving both strategic planning and tactical execution, with a focus on cross-group collaboration.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Define roadmaps for scenarios / features / capabilities that you will own.
- Develop credible execution plans and apply data driven insight where possible to improve efficiency.
- Design features by converting complex requirements, metrics, and policy into technical feature specifications and designs.
- Ability to work independently in highly ambiguous environments, with engineering, operations and relevant business groups across Microsoft.
- Take a structural approach in solving complex problems. Communicate to senior decision makers in a clear & compelling way.
- Stellar cross group collaboration, able to drive decisive action in partnership with others in a large & diverse organization and deliver results that depend on broader Microsoft org. Help lead and champion a team culture that embraces diversity.
- Define targets for key business KPIs, and track and report progress on them. Implement QoS and SLA metrics for your scenarios / features / capabilities.
