Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience working on complex applications or backend systems development
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $85,000 - CAD $166,800 per year.

Responsibilities
- As a developer, you will own the development lifecycle of your features. You will come up with the software design and execution plans for your features, implement, test and merge your code, and monitor your features once they deploy to production.
- You will work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a your features.
- You will contribute to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area and review them with appropriate stakeholders and incorporate their feedback.
- You will create and implement code for a service or feature, reusing code as applicable.
- You will contribute to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimates.
- You will act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor our service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gain approval to restore the service by following troubleshooting guides.
- You will learn about and stay abreast of the implications of privacy, security, compliance and responsible AI requirements with guidance from your technical leaders.
- During implementation, you will code with diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability in mind and ship your code alongside appropriate test automation. You will learn about and apply best practices in coding patterns wherever possible.
- You will use feature rollout flags to enable new features and experimentation (e.g. A/B testing) to evaluate features in production.
