Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the design and development of scalable, resilient, and intelligent services that power mission-critical commerce and risk systems. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in complex, data-driven environments and are eager to grow their expertise in building secure, AI-powered systems at enterprise scale.

As a key member of the team, you will work closely with senior engineers to deliver impactful solutions that prevent fraud, enhance customer experience, and support Microsoft’s global commerce ecosystem. You will have opportunities to learn, collaborate across disciplines, and develop engineering practices while contributing to systems that operate at cloud scale.

Qualifications

Required Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • 2+ years’ experience in design and implementation of large-scale cloud services

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Azure cloud services, such as Azure App Service or Azure Kubernetes Service, or equivalent platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready code.
  • Exposure to e-commerce, payments, or fraud prevention systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

  • Build & Deliver: Design, implement, and validate high-scale services that support near-real-time decision making.
