Overview
The Azure Strategic Finance (Revenue Planning) team influences decision-making and implementation of strategy across the Azure portfolio. Our charter is to ensure leaders are focused on the highest ROI opportunities and initiatives. We integrate insights into actions across GTM, deal structure, business model, and resource allocation/prioritization. The Azure Core team has an opening for a qualified candidate with relevant experience to lead regional pricing and fleet management.
In this Finance Manager - Azure Strategic Finance role, you’ll collaborate with Marketing and Engineering to develop frameworks for how we price Azure services globally. You’ll analyze demand signals and market trends to inform how we think about growth shaping across regions and price elasticity. Your work will influence regional growth, product roadmap, and how we measure business performance. Often you will bring data-driven insights to business partners and validate go/no go outcomes with rigorous financial modeling. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Engineering, Sales, COGS Finance, and Corp Strat.
In the first six months a few of the projects you’ll work on are:
- Partner with Marketing / GTM on a regional pricing assessment and creation of global pricing frameworks
- Assist with augmenting the capacity reservation portfolio
- AI market landscape / ecosystem analysis

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- 1 yr experience in tech finance, consulting, and investment banking.
- 2+ year(s) work experience with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis) and excel modeling.
Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.

- Collaborate with Marketing, Business Planning, and Engineering teams on regional pricing and packaging proposals
- Enhance process for internal compute vCore allocations based on ROI to the company
- Support broader team efforts for market and compete analysis, including AI landscape and TAM sizing
- Collect customer and partner feedback data and assist with analysis to improve experiences while building relationships with internal and external partners.
- Support business decision-making by addressing expense and compliance questions, contributing insights for financial plans, resource optimization, investments, KPIs, long-range planning, and margin accountability.
- Contribute to analysis of present and future financial performance across products, segments, or businesses, and assist senior team members with research on financial plans, acquisition activity, and future opportunities.
