As part of this mission, we are driving Sovereign Cloud Engagements to meet the unique compliance, security, and data residency needs of our customers in regulated industries and public sector environments.

We are seeking a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) to lead the programmatic execution of Sovereign Cloud initiatives across 7 subregions in Europe North. This role combines technical thought leadership, strategic program oversight, and customer engagement to ensure successful adoption of Microsoft’s Sovereign Cloud solutions at scale.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Solution Architect or equivalent technical leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture, compliance frameworks, and data sovereignty regulations in Europe.
  • Strong stakeholder management and program execution skills across multiple geographies.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience in Azure Sovereign Cloud projects and deep knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, EU Data Boundary).
  • Experience in public sector or regulated industries.
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Success Criteria (First 12 Months):

  • Deliver measurable progress on Sovereign Cloud adoption across all 7 subregions.
  • Establish a governance model and reporting cadence for program execution.
  • Build a strong network of technical influencers and champions within the region.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Governance

  • Drive the Sovereign Cloud Engagements program across multiple subregions, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and local regulatory requirements.
  • Define and track KPIs for adoption, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish governance frameworks for architecture reviews, risk assessments, and escalation management.

Technical Thought Leadership

  • Work directly with top customers in Europe North and act as a trusted advisor on Sovereign Cloud architecture, security, and compliance.
  • Represent Microsoft in executive and technical forums, influencing decision-makers and industry stakeholders.
  • Advocate for customer needs in Microsoft’s Sovereign Cloud roadmap.

Regional Execution

  • Coordinate with CSU leadership and subregional teams to ensure consistent delivery of Sovereign Cloud engagements.
  • Curate reusable assets, playbooks, and guidance for subregions.

Customer & Partner Engagement

  • Lead strategic customer conversations on digital sovereignty, data residency, and compliance.
  • Enable partners to build and deliver Sovereign Cloud solutions at scale.

Capability Building

  • Mentor and upskill local CSAs and technical specialists on Sovereign Cloud patterns and best practices.
  • Share insights and best practices across the region.
