The Senior Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) with POD Lead responsibilities is accountable for driving delivery excellence, technical quality, and operational discipline within a designated group of vendor CSAs (the POD).
This position demands a strong technical foundation, advanced project management expertise, and proven leadership skills to ensure that every engagement delivered through the Success Program meets Microsoft’s highest standards for quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
As both a technical expert and operational leader, the POD Lead oversees end-to-end delivery performance, enforces compliance with standards, and acts as a regional focal point for escalations and strategic alignment. Through hands-on engagement delivery, quality oversight, and mentoring, the POD Lead elevates both customer outcomes and team capability.
It will require an investigative approach, a challenger mindset, and deep experience working with our customers in their Secured cloud environments such as GCC/H, Sovereign Cloud and more. You will work to build relationships at the local, investigate creative approaches to staffing and delivery directly to your customers in your area of expertise (Azure Resiliency, Security, and/or AI).

Responsibilities
  • Drive technical delivery excellence by partnering with Secured CSU leaders and CSA teams, providing architectural guidance, best‑practice validation, and conducting delivery audits.
  • Lead key customer engagements to set delivery quality standards and ensure effective knowledge transfer across Azure, Security, AI, and Modern Work solutions.
  • Manage program operations by maintaining ROB cadences, producing dashboards, supporting QBRs, and overseeing lifecycle governance for Success Program engagements.
  • Monitor and optimize vendor CSA utilization, compliance, CSAT performance, workload planning, and KPI tracking to ensure delivery health.
  • Act as a territorial leader by mentoring CSAs, enabling cross‑team collaboration, ensuring operational alignment, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to innovation by piloting new content, providing structured feedback to IP teams, and advancing delivery methodologies and automation opportunities.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

This role requires the ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • The successful candidate must be able to obtain Reliability Status screening from a duly authorized department or agency of the Government of Canada. This process includes but is not limited to:

    • Verification of identity, background, education, professional credentials, personal and professional references, credit check, and criminal background check.

    • Reliability Status screening may also require a security questionnaire and security interview.

To obtain the requisite clearance within required timelines, applicants must have a stable residency history. Microsoft will work with individuals on a case-by-case basis to determine if the requisite clearance can be obtained within required timelines. Please note that the clearance process is governed by the respective authorized department or agency of the Government of Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • technical expertise across Microsoft Cloud services, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Security solutions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply AI concepts within customer environments and operational processes.
  • Proven project management capabilities covering governance, reporting, and full delivery lifecycle oversight.
  • Demonstrated experience leading distributed teams and coordinating cross‑functional delivery with partners and vendors.
  • Understanding of ITIL, DevOps, SRE principles, operational frameworks (change management, incident response), and governance/compliance practices.
  • Communication and documentation skills with the ability to engage executive, technical, and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience managing or supporting large‑scale delivery teams within managed services or customer success models, including multi‑partner/vendor environments.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Azure DevOps, and automation tools for analytics, reporting, and operational optimization; relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, Azure AI Engineer, and ITIL Foundation.



Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $96,000 - CAD $177,600 per year.
