Mistplay is seeking a Senior Economy Data Analyst II to join our Analytics team. In this role, you’ll leverage data analysis and experimentation to generate insights and recommendations that influence our product roadmap, and play a direct role in informing high impact decisions that drive business and product performance.
Reporting to the Manager of Analytics & Experimentation, you will collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, and business stakeholders by using data driven insights to inform the design of Mistplay’s core user economy, including: in-app earn rate, loyalty & tiering strategy, pricing, and cost optimization. In order to inform the development of new product features and engagement strategies, you’ll lead the design and execution of multivariate AB tests, and conduct research to guide the implementation of mathematical models & simulations of potential user economies.
What You'll Be Doing:
Own Mistplay’s in-app user economy, and drive insights discovery to help optimize the way we reward and engage users within the app.
Conduct prescriptive analysis to identify actionable insights, including diving into the core product funnel, user cohorts, and analyzing user behaviour data, in order to identify areas of the user experience that can be improved to drive increased user engagement within our app.
Define KPIs for the company and build automated dashboards, reports, and models to enable teams at Mistplay to make better business decisions.
Design, orchestrate, and analyze the results of multivariate product experiments to help drive growth, improve existing product features, and test new areas of opportunity.
Develop and maintain mathematical models to understand and simulate in-game economic systems, leveraging statistical research, player-behaviour analysis, and economic principles to guide game design and balance decisions.
Apply advanced analytics techniques – including machine learning – to uncover player insights, forecast economic trends, and support monetization strategies, while ensuring solutions remain interpretable and actionable for stakeholders.
Collaborate with data, product, and engineering stakeholders in building business cases & forecasts for developing new features, and serve as a strategic thought partner through the end-to-end product development lifecycle.
What We're Looking For:
BA/BS in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative fields.
6+ years of work experience doing quantitative analysis(preferably in the gaming or consumer tech industries).
Pro-level ability to synthesize and communicate complex concepts and analyses to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences, and a proven track record of impacting business or product decisions.
Past experience in A/B testing, and a strong foundational knowledge of core inferential statistics concepts (significance, power, confidence intervals, variance, etc.).
Fluency in SQL. Experience pulling highly dimensional and complex data.
Experience with Python or another programming tool for statistical simulation and scenario modeling.
Experience with Tableau or another BI tool.
Positive attitude and a healthy dose of natural curiosity, with a bias for action. Questions have to be answered and our data isn't just going to analyze itself (We're working on that).
Bonus if you have:
A love of gaming and familiarity with the games industry.
Past experience in econometrics and modelling for understanding and driving user behaviours using incentives.
Understanding of data science and machine learning techniques.
Familiarity with cloud data technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Databricks to query and build data models and reports.
