What is the Opportunity?

The flagship branch at the top of Royal Bank Plaza, the 39th floor office of RBC Dominion Securities is looking to hire an Assistant Branch Operations Manager to assist one of the largest Wealth Management branches in implementing our strategic priorities and in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of our rapidly-growing business. The successful candidate should be fully licensed and have leadership experience in the financial industry. This is an exciting, challenging role in one of the largest Branches in the system. The ability to learn and grow in this role is vast.

The ABOM fulfils a leadership role in the branch by providing operational and administrative support to the Branch Management and Advisory teams. This role is entirely administrative and requires the ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure of daily deadlines, and keep organized while working under frequent interruption.

What will you do?

As an Assistant Branch Operations Manager, you will be supporting the Branch Operations Manager in daily responsibilities which include but not limited to:

  • Supervision of Branch Cage Operations, including signing authority for outgoing cheques and approval of daily transactions. With your Branch Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the daily review and approval of all branch operations/transactions and exceptions in strict compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Responsible for implementing branch and head office initiatives in ever evolving Wealth Management business
  • While directly and indirectly supervising, you will also be providing leadership and coaching to staff
  • On a daily basis, assist Branch Directors with following up on compliance queries
  • Organize branch events such as internal seminars and staff appreciation activities
  • Review and reconcile daily, monthly and quarterly branch reports
  • Investigate and resolve inquiries related to accounts and escalate to the Investment Advisor or Branch Management where appropriate.
  • Assist with premise requests

Must-have

  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience and completion of CSC and CPH
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Professionalism and ability to manage highly confidential information
  • Exceptional attention to detail and mature/positive attitude
  • Excellent people skills, ability to manage different personalities, mature/positive attitude

Nice-to-have

  • Broad knowledge of Wealth Management software
  • Post-secondary education
