What is the opportunity?

The purpose of this job is to support the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Risk team in conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis and that contributes to work related to scenario analysis, risk scoring, risk monitoring, disclosure of results and the integration of environmental & social risk data into our risk management processes and frameworks.

What will you do?

  • Work in a collaborative and diverse team environment analyzing ESG risk issues, including climate change and developing solutions to address those risks;

  • Conduct analysis to help inform the design of methodologies to measure, monitor and manage ESG risk;

  • Assist in identifying opportunities and developing recommendations to improve ESG data management and acquisition;

  • Perform market research on regulatory requirements (e.g. OSFI B-15), peer comparison and document findings;

  • Support the development of presentation materials for ongoing ESG Risk Reporting;

  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and research in support of broader ESG Risk priorities;

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Degree in a discipline such as business, sustainability, engineering, math, environmental science or other relevant area

  • Experience with data analysis, including analytical tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python) and insight generation.

  • Experience developing presentations and visualizations (e.g. PowerPoint).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to think creatively and help develop new and innovative approaches to complex problems.

  • Comfort working in a rapidly evolving and fast-paced environment.

  • Adaptability and a curiosity to learn and contribute to a variety of ESG Risk initiatives.

Nice-to-have

  • Advanced degree or certification in a discipline such as business, sustainability, engineering, math, environmental science or other relevant area

  • Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with climate reporting frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, PCAF, TCFD etc.

  • Familiarity with climate regulations such as OSFI B-15, ISSB, CSRD, etc.
