What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Director, Workplace Strategy & Insights within the Group Products & Strategy team as part of Personal Savings and Investments. The Data Analyst will play a critical role in the development of advanced data visualizations and analytics in addition to collaborating closely with cross functional teams to assess and mitigate business risks. This position is primarily responsible for leveraging analytical and technical skills to enhance business decisions through data-driven insights. Responsibilities include designing, building and analyzing large datasets for business purposes, creating visualizations for reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
What will you do?
Data Reporting and Analysis
Design, build and implement visually appealing and intuitive Tableau dashboards and/or advanced Excel reports including a high level of complexity that serve as both self-serve sources of information and supports the analytical insights required to drive data-driven business decisions.
Responsible for the development and operationalization of dashboards used sales, role and business stakeholders. These will include but not be limited to sponsor, member and product data.
You will analyze data to uncover trends, patterns and insights using a variety of analytical methods and translate them into prescriptive output.
Risk and Compliance
Utilize data to support issues and risk findings, developing insights that inform strategies and risk assessments.
Perform detailed analysis of large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that could indicate risks or inefficiencies.
You will also ensure data practices comply with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements like DPR, SOX, etc ad ensure all functions (applications and procedures) within the team are carried out in a risk conscious manner, and key audit controls and information security controls are consistently satisfied.
Ad hoc Data Support
The Group team requires ad hoc data development and analysis support based on requests from various team members and internal stakeholders.
This role will be responsible for completing these requests delivering the data and corresponding analysis as per best practices.
Collaboration
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Finance, Group Advantage National Office, CXDI, DABI, other PBI data teams, etc. as a subject-matter-expert on data visualization and analytics.
Recommend analytics solutions while driving a positive internal client experience.
This role will also be required to collaborate with internal data partners to incorporate enterprise best practices into your own work.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
5-7 years' relevant experience
Advanced proficiency in business analytics, included advanced Excel expertise
Strong knowledge of Tableau Desktop, MS Excel, Python, SQL (or similar language), and dashboard building methodologies
Strong knowledge of analytical methods (e.g. exploratory, descriptive, predictive)
Proficient in using and manipulating large datasets.
Ability to proactively solve & manage data and dashboard problems.
Positive attitude, team player, effective communications and collaboration skills + a strong internal client satisfaction outlook.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and respond to client needs.
Nice to have:
Working knowledge of the Group Retirement Market and product offerings
Proficiency with creating compelling presentations
Knowledge of Agile methodology
Working knowledge of Risk Management concepts and processes
Data Engineering / Data Science certification and/or completion of Business Analysis training courses.
