What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Peer Benchmarking, Market Share & Analytics drives actionable insights through measuring and analyzing relative competitive performance for RBC’s Personal Banking and Commercial Banking businesses. They are responsible for identifying trends, synthesizing data and enabling clearer understanding of our competitive positioning to enhance financial and business performance. Additionally, the Senior Manager will be responsible for leveraging technology to transform the delivery of benchmarking and market share data to increase sharing of information and streamlining of deliverables and processes. The Senior Manager will also be driving the analytics and themes that are included in the Senior Executive Quarter Business Review (QBR), along with creating other similar competitive discussion documents for use in various senior business forums.

What you will do?

  • Lead monthly market share reporting and competitive intelligence, including data ownership, coordination, and investigating queries
  • Drive quarterly peer earnings benchmarking data and insights for Personal Banking, Commercial Banking and Finance executive consumption
  • Develop and coordinate Personal Banking and Commercial Banking’s QBR documents for business executive discussions with CEO
  • Create quarterly competitive discussion documents for various business forums (Regional Presidents, Commercial Sales Leadership, Volume & Margin Discussions)
  • Transform delivery of market share and competitive peer data to business to enable better transparency and support business performance decisions
  • Support Investor Relations, Enterprise Performance Management, Strategy, Personal Banking Value Office etc. in competitor-related disclosures, dashboard / target measurement requests
  • Special projects as assigned

What you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 3+ years’ experience working within or advising a Financial Institution
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create presentations for an executive audience
  • Ability to synthesize issues
  • Strong communications skills
  • CA or CFA

Nice to Have

  • Detailed knowledge of the retail banking products and systems
  • Demonstrated experience with data research to formulate insights
  • Experience with Tableau
