WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We are looking for an adaptable and strategic project lead who is excited by the opportunity to join a team at the center of an enterprise-wide strategy and contribute to a wide range of workstreams.

The Senior Manager, Climate Governance & Integration leads project management for governance and executive oversight, advances strategic projects to integrate RBC’s climate strategy into decision-making processes, establishes and owns a research & insights function and partners cross-functionally on climate disclosure.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, Climate Strategy, Governance & Integration and is part of RBC’s Climate Strategy & Governance team in the Enterprise Strategy & Transformation function. The team is responsible for shaping RBC’s climate ambition and supporting strategy delivery while ensuring strong cross-enterprise alignment on strategic priorities and actions. It serves as a central connection point for the enterprise on climate, bringing climate expertise, external insights, connectivity and best practices to groups across RBC.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Support governance and strategy development with project management and analytics for the enterprise climate strategy, including partnering with the Director and Sr. Director on developing strategic approaches for emerging topics and evolving the climate strategy to respond to changes in the external environment
  • Lead the planning and coordination of climate disclosure content, including managing reviews, incorporating input, designing and delivering controls working with internal partners, such as Finance and Law Group
  • Drive forward strategic initiatives to enhance climate integration and improves to the climate operating model, including partnering with teams internally to understand existing processes and ways to improve them
  • Establish and own a knowledge and insights function, maintaining a strong knowledge of key strategic developments and sharing relevant insights with our internal partners – including updates to peer benchmarking, industry standards, market insights and stakeholder expectations
  • Contribute to executive updates on our climate strategy performance with an emphasis on strategic problem-solving and storylining.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, with at least 2+ years of strategy experience either in management consulting or within the strategy function of a global company
  • Strong capabilities in problem-solving and synthesis of key insights
  • Strong storylining and structured communication for executive audiences, including Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities
  • Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously

Nice-to-have:

  • Stakeholder management and inter-personal skills, particularly impact and influence
  • Experience with data analysis, including economic and financial modelling and analysis
  • Experience working in a large matrix organization and/or with corporate sustainability
