Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

The Strategy & Operations team (which supports the Risk & Compliance Technology team within the broader GFT team) is responsible for department oversight of key programs, as well as overall portfolio management and business management related responsibilities. We are excited for the unique opportunity this multifaceted role represents.
What will you do?
Deliver initiatives using appropriate methods, and communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes. Report team progress and accomplishments up and across, including facilitation of status updates, product demos, and retrospectives
Remove impediments to deliver outcomes and results through proactive management of external dependencies, critical thinking/problem solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges
Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues. Facilitate and engage in analytical and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence
Develop and manage the detailed schedule, identify early warning indicators, provide direction for early resolution of risks, issues and clear escalation path for program committees.
Oversee financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet project delivery requirements and track value for effective decision-making
Collaborate with internal and external partners
Build / present reporting for senior management and executive level presentations
Ensure the completion of risk assessments and the identification & execution of contingency plans
Establish strong working relationships across technical/business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.
Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes
Support business areas in developing and implementing strategies to recruit, onboard, engage and retain talent, as well as improving and strengthening team culture to optimize the employee experience
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Proven ability to manage high visibility projects along with having a strong executive presence and advanced communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Plans and executes projects including managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities, as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics / assumptions
Raises and tracks issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves project issues and escalates to immediate manager when required
Experience working with executives and senior management/leadership teams
Sets up appropriate governance and oversight of all projects
Manages project communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business units, vendors, project team, etc.
Provides superior client experience and strengthens relationships with all key stakeholders
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment
Experience with data analysis using Excel; expert knowledge of working with pivot tables
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
A natural and effective relationship builder, partner and coach who is trusted and respected by colleagues
Nice-to-have
Undergraduate degree (preferred) - Preferably in Business, Technology or Financial Services
Previous experience working in Global Functions Technology
HR related experiences, including recruitment support, onboarding initiatives, and overall talent management activities
Ability to manage projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components
