What is the opportunity?

As an integral member of the Global Capital Markets Compliance Governance and Strategic Initiatives team, the Manager helps support the COO of Global Capital Markets Compliance, Global Head of CM Compliance, and regional Capital Markets Chief Compliance Officers for global activity. The Manager will be responsible for assisting with the overall execution and ongoing administration of a compliance program covering Capital Markets policies, training, communications, strategic initiatives, lessons learned and reporting. Regional accountabilities are for program execution in the United States, with global responsibilities centered on monitoring consistency of the model across regions. The Manager will remain active in promoting global best practices relating to common program elements, and act as a Centre of Expertise on the daily activities of the program standards.

What will you do?

The Manager, will be required to assist in the completion of all underlying tasks related to Policies, Training, Communications, Strategic Initiatives, Lessons Learned, and Reporting.

  • Policies and Procedures: Ensure correct tracking of all policies globally; that all policies meet the correct standard and are updated on the correct frequency; that policies are posted and maintained in the correct location; manage the global policy approval process; ensure the global and regional policy inventories are up to date.

  • Compliance Training and Communications: Track and maintain global training records and data; administer report generation on training completion rates and other metrics; manage the distribution of compliance communications, ensuring their distribution complies with program schedule and parameters; overall coordination of training framework.

  • Strategic Initiatives: Work closely with the COO and CCOs to execute, track, and ensure timely completion of strategic initiatives with varying levels of complexity and uncertainty. This includes supporting ad-hoc projects and activities as required (methodology improvements, stakeholder management, committee reporting, and global coordination).

  • Lessons Learned: Track and maintain inventory of Lessons Learned originating in Canada and the U.S.

  • Reporting and Management Information (MI): Support for ensuring all reporting is tracked and delivered on time, participate in the creation of all required reports; coordination of material required for various committee meetings.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's Degree in associated field

  • Project/Initiative or Change Management experience preferred.

  • Expert PowerPoint and Excel skills including a strong ability to distill large data sets into effective visual presentations for senior audiences

  • Excellent writing skills for the development of employee communications

  • Experience with data visualization tools and reporting (i.e. Tableau, Power BI)

  • Direct compliance or risk experience supporting a Capital Markets / Institutional business (e.g., sales and trading, corporate and investment banking)

  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices relating to compliance (regionally and globally)
