What’s the Opportunity?

As Senior Manager, Operational Resilience, you are responsible for supporting the Director, Operational Resilience and contributing to the design, execution, reporting, and oversight of the Operational Resilience Program within Canadian Banking. Your position is integral in maintaining both a framework for all applicable stakeholders to carry out the execution of the OSFI Operational Resiliency requirements (under regulation E-21) as well as monitor the critical deliverables to ensure Canadian Banking is compliant and mitigating resilience related risks.

What will you do?

  • Execute the operational resilience lifecycle with internal partners across Canadian Banking
  • Validate and assess the risks, single point of failures, gaps and vulnerabilities to prioritize recommendations and remediation
  • Identify learnings and opportunities for operational efficiencies and process enhancements from scenario testing results
  • Ensure regulatory requirements and expectations are complied with
  • Support change initiatives process to ensure operational resilience is embedded by design
  • Understand operational risks and threats facing the financial industry and RBC to provide a perspective on the ability of Personal Banking and Commercial Banking Canada to prepare for and respond to disruptions

What you need to succeed?

Must- have:

  • 10+ years of experience in executing operational risk management practices in the financial services industry, including implementing appropriate controls for effective mitigation
  • Strong understanding of Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Management
  • Proficient in using MS Excel for data analytics and MS Visio for developing business process mapping
  • Professional oral and written communication and presentation skills, and ability to use MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Strategic mindset and effective collaboration skills
  • Experience in defining and implementing effective risk reporting
  • Experience working in a complex, matrix environment and proactively managing a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to independently recognize problems, propose solutions and execute on them
  • University degree

Nice-to-have:

  • Operational Risk Management or Internal Audit background
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and leading practices regarding Operational Resilience
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
