What is the Opportunity?

Personal Banking’s Value Office is a team with collective experience and expertise in a range of topics and across many years at RBC. Leaders and teams work collaboratively to connect insights and action plans across key result areas. Within the Value Office, the Business Performance & Portfolio team is looking to hire a Senior Manager to support Performance Management. This team is focused on helping leaders articulate a clear path through uncertainty by measuring productivity holistically and by providing platform level insights, connectivity and thought partnership.

What will you do?

  • Utilize business acumen and analytical skills to lead performance measurement initiatives

  • Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership, highlighting performance trends, risks, the effectiveness of current strategies, and actionable insights

  • Support the development of Personal Banking’s ‘Performance Tracker’ which will monitor the platform’s productivity financially and operationally towards key targets (i.e. Strategy’s 3-year Outlook, Investor Day Targets)

  • Support the team in maintaining consistent communication regarding performance expectations, outcomes, and feedback.

  • Process optimization – continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains across our various reporting with an aim to automate how we collect information.

  • Deep dive into the P&L to deconstruct financial variances into underlying business drivers and management levers (i.e. how to assess Revenue growth differently, and how to slice and dice Personal Banking’s cost base)

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years’ professional experience in either performance management roles or financial analyses (i.e. Capital Markets, Private Equity)

  • Strong story telling skillset, by leveraging data → excel → ppt, and ultimately the ability to pull together insights and ‘so-what’s’

  • Financial acumen with knowledge of a bank’s P&L and high-level drivers

  • Collaboration & Communication: ability to articulate value propositions of new strategies and tactics.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Tableau.

Nice to Have:

  • Post-graduate degree (MBA, Masters, or CFA)

  • Knowledge of market, Personal Banking products, competitors, clients

  • Previous experience with business case development, investment / benefit tracking, and the ability to translate financial data into actional insights

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
