What is the Opportunity?

RBC offers an exciting role as a strategic and execution-oriented Senior Manager, HR Digital Risk & Program Delivery to join our HR Digital Solutions (HRDS) team. In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening risk management, vendor oversight, and delivery discipline across our HR technology portfolio. You will work at the intersection of digital enablement, operational resilience, and enterprise compliance – helping ensure that the HR digital platforms and tools are reliable, compliant, and delivering value.

What will you do?

Risk Management & Governance

  • Act as the primary contact point between the HRDS team and 1b & 2nd Line of Defense (i.e., HR Risk & Compliance team, Group Risk Management, Enterprise Compliance, Risk Centres of Governance etc.), monitoring evolving enterprise risk policies and industry standards and ensuring the requirements are interpreted and communicated to the HRDS team.

  • Lead the completion, update, and regular review of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Business Environment Impact Evaluation (BEIE) to maintain an accurate risk profile for the HRDS team.

  • Support the maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure operational resilience for the HRDS team.

  • Serve as the Risk Manager for the key HR systems managed by the HRDS team; Build strong working knowledge of supported systems and lead the end-to-end risk management activities in close partnership with Product Owners/ App Custodians (i.e., Risk Owners), ensuring risk obligations are met across all applicable risk areas.

  • Manage outstanding risk issues and support Product Owners/ App Custodians in operationalizing risk controls, ensuring no past due risk or audit issues.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners/ App Custodians to identify and assess risks associated with changes, upgrades/ releases, or the introduction of new digital capabilities.

  • Lead the risk review processes to ensure ethical, secure, and responsible adoption of emerging digital capabilities (e.g., automation, AI).

  • Lead the risk review processes for vendor-provided professional services, ensuring all applicable risk areas are assessed and documented in accordance with RBC enterprise requirements.

  • Support the HRDS team/ Risk Owners in responding to internal or external audits by communicating with auditors, coordinating evidence collection, completing supporting documentation, and tracking follow-up on remediation actions.

  • Foster risk awareness and create guiding materials and reference resources (e.g., foundational information for the supported systems and commonly required risk-related information) to build risk capability within the HRDS team.

Vendor Management

  • Support the vendor relationship lifecycle for the key HR systems managed by the HRDS team, including administrative support for contract renewals and amendments in collaboration with Procurement, Legal, and Finance teams.

  • Manage invoice processing and budget tracking activities, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of cost centre reporting.

  • Monitor and track vendor service levels, surfacing issues related to non-performance, missed SLAs, or delivery delays.

  • Gather App Custodians’ feedback and input to prepare for vendor performance discussions and reviews.

  • Maintain documentation for vendor contacts, renewal dates, pricing, and service coverage as part of operational readiness and compliance.

Program Management & Operational Execution

  • Manage and coordinate recurring programs such as Workday semi-annual releases, ensuring stakeholder engagement and high-quality delivery.

  • Provide support for escalated enterprise digital HR issues, ensuring prompt risk reporting as needed.

  • Review and update Workday Named Support Contacts, Workday Community, and SharePoint user access, ensuring access governance aligns with team roles and audit expectations.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 7+ years in HR technology, IT risk management, digital program management, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of HR technologies and platforms (e.g., Workday, Phenom), including how they support HR business processes.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise risk areas (privacy risk, third-party risk, business continuity risk etc.), particularly related to digital compliance and governance (IT risk, model risk etc.).

  • Experience supporting control documentation, audit evidence gathering, and issue remediation tracking.

  • Proven ability to interpret risk and compliance requirements and translate them into actionable steps for business and technical teams.

  • Experience working with technology program delivery and technology vendor management.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (across business, technology, and risk) and navigate complex stakeholder groups.

  • Known as a problem solver or a doer with strong critical thinking and execution skills – able to navigate ambiguity, break down complex issues, and push actions forward with persistence.

  • Demonstrated agility and adaptability, with the ability to navigate and adapt to evolving priorities.
