The Senior Manager, Wealth Management Financial Control will be responsible for managing the Financial Control responsibilities in the Canadian Wealth Management (WM) Finance group with the objective of delivering timely, accurate and reliable financial information, supporting Quarterly SOX certification as well as Finance implementation projects to automate and improve financial reporting systems, controls and processes.

This position reports to the Director, Canadian WM Financial Control.
What will you do?
- Financial Reporting – Responsible for accurate and complete Financial and Regulatory reporting for Canadian WM businesses. Managing and redesigning monthly close processes to ensure robust control environment and review of quarterly financial disclosures and related variances.
- Accounting Advisory – Assessing the accounting implications of new initiatives to enable business partners to make the best decisions. Implement new accounting policies.
- Establishing the financial infrastructure for Canadian WM – Assessing financial risk and establish proper infrastructure & processes to ensure financial results are reported completely and accurately and risks are adequately managed.
- Monitoring the Financial Control environment – Attestation, administration and investigation of EGL accounts related to WM business and review of standards of documentation (SOD)s to ensure breaks are resolved in a timely manner.
- SOX and Audit Support – Liaising with internal and external auditors by providing complete and necessary information to satisfy audit requests. Performing and updating SOX controls.
- Data strategy and other projects – Leading/assisting with data strategy projects and ad hoc initiatives to enhance the transparency and accuracy of the data and related controls.
- Process Transformation – Automating & simplifying existing processes and assisting WM business with implementation of new processes/products.
- People Management - Leading and developing a team by providing proper coaching, clear direction and expectations.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- CPA, CA or equivalent. This mandate is highly dependent on skills commonly associated with accounting designations
- 7+ years working experience, ideally for financial institutions
- Strong IFRS working knowledge
- Knowledge of Wealth Management business or willingness and interest in developing that knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to collaborate and obtain buy-ins from multiple stakeholders
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet with multiple deliverables within a tight timeline
- Excellent Excel skills and presentation skills

- Strong knowledge of the RBC financial systems
