What is the opportunity?
This role provides critical actuarial advisory support to the portfolio directors in addressing key issues related to Segregated Fund (SegFund) and Participating (PAR) products. The successful candidate will lead investigations into product-related issues, drive resolutions, and play a significant role in shaping and executing broader strategic initiatives as they evolve.
What will you do?
- Lead collaboration with the portfolio directors and cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve issues related to SegFund and PAR product, including but not limited to CSM emergence, profitability, and AXIS model enhancement
- Provide actuarial analysis and insights to support resolution of identified product issues
- Drive strategic initiatives that improve product sustainability and ensure alignment with regulatory and policyholder expectations
- Conduct scenario analysis, modeling, and sensitivity testing using GGY AXIS and other actuarial tools
- Summarize findings and recommendations into clear, actionable presentations for senior leadership
- Lead and contribute to ad-hoc projects as the strategic program evolves
What will you need to succeed?
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail for complex problem solving and investigative work
- Extensive experience with GGY AXIS and familiarity with insurance product modeling and valuation
- Solid understanding of SegFund or PAR products and related actuarial considerations
- Knowledge of IFRS 17, including the Variable Fee Approach (VFA) and its application to relevant products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical results to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional collaboration and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a related discipline
- FSA or close to FSA
