WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Join a high-impact team driving RBC’s call centre and branch technology transformation. As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining GenAI-powered Advice Centre applications that leverage cloud services and generative AI to empower call centre agents and streamline complex workflows. You will collaborate closely with the Full Stack Development Lead and other team members to deliver robust, high-performing digital solutions that meet evolving business needs. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend and backend components for Advice Centre applications.
  • Collaborate with team members and the Development Lead to deliver high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Integrate APIs and cloud-based services to enhance application functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure best practices and code quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adopt new technologies as appropriate.
  • Work in an agile environment, actively participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 2–5 years of software development experience, including exposure to cloud services, microservices, GenAI, or data analysis.
  • Proficiency in building frontend applications using React or other modern frameworks such as Angular.
  • Experience in server-side development with Node.js, Java, or Python.
  • A passion for creating exceptional user interfaces and digital experiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, agile teams.
  • Hands-on experience with API integration and cloud-based services.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with advanced observability tools.
  • Understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with shift-left testing principles, including early integration of automated testing and code quality checks.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
