What is the opportunity?
In this role the IT Financials Officer will partner with the Senior Manager – IT Financials in the effective management of Caribbean Technology’s financial portfolio to drive actionable decision-making, identify opportunities for cost savings and avoidance, to align spend with priorities, to align with Enterprise mandates and to provide information, reports and analyses throughout the financial year. Additionally, the incumbent will provide support with financial planning and forecasting of Caribbean Technology’s NIE, provide financial guidance to the unit in keeping with RBC’s policies and general accounting standards and act as a point of contact for finance related issues for the unit and cross-functional stakeholders.
What will you do?
- Provide monthly reporting on Caribbean Technology’s Non-Interest Expense (NIE) performance against plan and T&O targets including headcount trending
- Participate in monthly Non-Interest Expense (NIE) reviews with transit owners
- Complete forecasting of transit expenditure and headcount
- Perform Non-Interest Expenses (NIE) trend analysis
- Perform deep dives into transit expenditure to identify anomalies for resolution and costs which are not for Caribbean Technology to be reallocated to the relevant line of business
- Support the annual business planning for Caribbean Technology
- Acts as the point of contact for finance related issues for senior management, finance analysts and other stakeholders
- Provide financial guidance and advice to senior management and other stakeholders
- Execute ad hoc requests from senior management, finance partners and other stakeholders
- Perform monthly accrual functions for projects to ensure expenses are accurately accounted for
- Perform annual end of year accruals and contractual commitments
- Perform tracking and report on In Segment monthly tracking
- General ledger account reconciliation for RBCTT transits which have In Segment spend
- Contribute to the Monthly Business Review deck.
- Assist with adhoc requests from the Personal Banking & Digital Technology Planning Team
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- Undergraduate Degree in IT or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel, PowerPoint and pivot tables.
- Excellent writing skills, ability to synthesize and summa rize meaningfully
- Strong organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- High degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
