Job Description

What is the opportunity?

This role is responsible for the development and delivery of major change at RBC Direct Investing, a leading-edge digital investment business undergoing significant transformation. Experience in leading diverse teams, in-depth understanding of the business and its fundamentals and competitive landscape, as well as proven ability to effectively navigate high levels of technical and stakeholder complexity are a must. Furthermore, the role requires deep insight and expertise of RBC’s distribution power. The role offers a structured leadership and personal development opportunity and has high exposure to senior and executive leadership levels of the business.

The role will identify and develop new channels for growth to drive increased acquisition and retention of Direct Investing (DI) and InvestEase clients. It will lead the research, design and implementation of key strategies to enhance distribution and joint referral opportunities across Personal and Commercial banking, Wealth Management and Private Banking. It will lead change management and roll-out DI initiatives; including all change management activities pertaining to large initiatives tied to DI/IE’s long-term success. It will foster key relationships to develop and deliver business strategies that promote cross enterprise opportunities, helping to ensure DI/IE and WMC achieve our strategic priorities and delivers shareholder value. The successful candidate must promote a positive image of DI/IE through professional and value-added contributions to RBC business partners.

What will you do?

  • Lead a team responsible for the integration of DI into the objectives, goals and results of all distribution partners and channels, including Personal, Commercial, Wealth Management and Private Banking.

  • In collaboration with key partners, explore, assess, and execute campaigns/initiatives to drive market share and acquisition growth across segments

  • Design and execute initiatives to improve engagement and retention among existing youth and student clients to maximize near-term revenue and create long-term growth potential for the

  • Own targets and the key business outcomes in your domain

  • Proactively identify and manage all risks related to the delivery and attainment of the intended business outcomes; Maintain strong functional relationships with key stakeholders and groups;

  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to the entrusted teams

  • Accountable to support DI senior leadership in the design and implementation of client-centric strategies and initiatives that will drive acquisition, growth and retention of DI clients, leading to increased market share.

  • Identify and lead opportunities to improve processes to increase advisor and partner engagement.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 7+ years’ experience in financial services, with roles related to retail/commercial distribution or role strategy

  • Proven impact & influence skills, strong interpersonal / stakeholder management skills

  • Strong organizational skills, high adaptability, prioritize multiple tasks and projects, while meeting time-sensitive deadlines

  • Intellectual curiosity, creative strategic problem solving, and quantitative data analysis skills

  • Strong technical ability with PowerPoint and Excel

  • Ability to toggle among near-term strategy, longer-term strategy, and execution work

  • Holistic perspective with ability to connect dependencies

  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on stakeholder management and obtaining buy in from various teams and seniority levels

Nice to have:

  • MBA or graduate / post-graduate or professional designations

  • Scorecard and/or business and frontline goal creation

  • Consulting experience
