Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will be a trusted finance advisor and primary contact to multiple lines of business within Wealth Management Canada (WMC), including Dominion Securities (DS) Caribbean, Private Trading Office, and RBC Parallels. You will also support DS Retail, Canada’s largest full-service brokerage as measured by AUA. Key responsibilities include financial planning, forecasting, and reporting, as well as on-going decision support and driver-based analysis. You will provide executive management with critical financial information and advice to efficiently manage and guide the strategic direction of the business.

What will you do?

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships as finance advisor for multiple lines of business within WMC, leading the forecasting, planning, reporting, and analytical support

  • Support the WMC level analysis and key metric reporting

  • Responsible for analyzing and reporting for DS profitability including enhancing modeling and analytics to provide better insight on business drivers

  • Responsible for monthly analysis and accruals for fee-based revenues and related commission accruals

  • Review, analyze and explain the business financial results and variances on a monthly basis

  • Provide management with NIE analysis to enable effective cost management and identify cost savings opportunities

  • Lead/Support projects and ad hoc requests

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Professional designations (CPA, CFA), or MBA or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and logical thinking skills with a strategic business orientation

  • Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, multiple data sources, and translating data/analysis into key messages and insights

  • Attention to detail for consistent and accurate output results

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral & written, with good interpersonal skills to establish relationships across all levels of the enterprise

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Curious and proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Strong team player and able to work independently with a positive attitude and "One RBC" mindset.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge and understanding of banking products and processes, particularly the brokerage and investment industry

  • Experience with unique financial systems such as EPM (Cognos TM1) and ADP
