Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

Participates in the technical design, development, and implementation of application systems within the Credit methodologies and modeling (CMM) department. Communicate strategic technology direction and assist the Director in supporting senior management in ensuring optimal use of data and optimal systems are being used within CMM. Identify technology priorities aligned across multiple stakeholders, mobilize resources to deliver those results, and ensure teams in CMM are enabled to deliver.

What will you do?

  • Drive efficiency and strategic gains in all CMM related software using Python and web languages in the following ways
    • Delivering key software to drive new initiatives which could include a full stack application
    • Architecting and translating SAS models into Python
    • Refactoring, maintaining and upgrading currently existing software by implementing business requirements from stakeholders
  • Accountable for the execution, maintenance and timely delivery of all model monitoring reports (IFRS9, CECL, CCAR)
  • Effectively utilize dev op tools such as Github, Pycharm and Copilot to complete tasks efficiently
  • Understand technical needs of CMM colleagues and create training material and/or software to assist them
  • Able to do use Bash to create basic maintenance scripts on Linux and willingness to take training courses to further support server maintenance

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Hands-on professional experience in Python language, SQL and building multi-module applications
  • 3 years of experience in working in finance teams, preferably in credit risk
  • Basic understanding of SOLID principles
  • Ability to utilize the debugging tool in order to solve issues
  • Experience in working in environments with quickly changing requirements
  • Degree in a quantitative discipline, or computer science or related experience

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, HTML and CSS is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAS is a plus
