What is the opportunity?

As a Technical Systems Specialist and Subject Matter Expert, you will oversee all lifecycle phases and participate in the overall management of multiple Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Office Online, Power Platform, Purview and associated services.

What will you do?

• Management and oversight of M365 services such as SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Power Platform, Purview, Licensing, Entra and Office Online in conjunction with the corresponding engineering, development, service delivery and operations teams with a focus on backend.

• Management and oversight of SharePoint on-premises environments (2016/2019) in conjunction with the corresponding engineering, development, service delivery and operations teams.

• Assist with management and oversight of M365 Power Platform and supporting activities.

• Monitor Microsoft 365 service health and champion issues to resolution.

• Troubleshoot and resolve user access and functional issues escalated by end users and our business partners.

• Participate in the migration from on-premises to cloud for the services we manage including attending program meetings and activities.

• Collaboration with Cyber Security, Risk, Privacy, Compliance, Supplier Management, Procurement, Solutions Architecture, SaaS COE, Identity & Access Management, when required.

• Support and manage patches or other software updates as required.

• Management and oversight of any Generative AI capabilities including onboarding and tracking.

• New web-based Office Online services will need to be deployed to the enterprise and supported.

• Transition from Individual drives (i.e. Y drives) to OneDrive and the standard enterprise support for all global RBC users is a key component of this role.

• Manage all related findings, risk assessments, privacy assessments, data assessments, supplier risk reviews and the like associated with the supported services.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• SharePoint Online: Tenant settings configuration, Site provisioning, permissions, content management.

• Experience in Security and Compliance - DLP policies, retention labels, audit logs.

• Development: SharePoint Framework (SPFx), React, Angular, REST API, Microsoft Graph integration.

• Experience with Windows server 2016 / 2019 / 2022.

• Experience with SharePoint 2013, 2016, 2019 or later.

• Communication skills are imperative as you will need to convey technical issues, solutions and resolutions to an executive and business audience in oral, written and online meeting formats as well as in presentations and spoken sessions.

• Critical Thinking and Problem Solving will be a key part of this role as we are continuously asked to come up with solutions required by RBC businesses (including regulatory items, compliance, privacy, RBC standard adherence, etc) working with our application and service vendors and 3rd parties.

• Ability to work across a diverse set of technologists and analysts from solutions architecture, engineering, cyber security, privacy, compliance, supplier management, procurement, multiple levels of support teams, and business clients is a key component of this position.

• Experience managing large scale services and systems from introduction to deployment to post-deployment support is important.

• Experiencing managing projects – including all project phases.

Nice-to-have:

• Advanced proficiency in PowerShell for automation for any services (Cloud and on-prem products)

• Azure Active Directory (Entra ID): understanding users and service principal policies, group policies and conditional access policies.

• Experience with SQL and RBC SCON, IIS, Active Directory.
